Time to Play Catch-up

I have got to get in the habit of doing this more often, or I just feel overwhelmed trying to remember what Cecilia’s doing day-to-day. OK, enough whining, and more Ceci.

Since our return from Ohio, Ceci has been doing so many cool things. Her balance is improving daily. She pulls herself up on anything she can, which can be scary, because she tends to head for unstable things like an empty laundry basket. She now cruises around the coffee table, rather than staying put. Her personality is really starting to develop as well. She lets you know when it’s OK to approach her by holding out her right arm, tilting her head to the side, and pointing to you. She also loves it if you mimic her sounds or expressions. Finally, she’s trying out all sorts of new food combinations. But, no teeth yet. We think they are on the way, but can’t really tell.

Grandma Joani (my mom) arrived in town on the 18th. She left Vegas at 6:30 a.m. and got to our house around 10:30 p.m. On top of spending tons of quality time with Ceci (and spoiling her just a little bit), Grandma has made curtains for the entire house, helped build new furniture, made dinners, and just been an all-around help.

Today was a weird day for Cecilia and day care. Chris dropped her off, which he’s done many times without a hitch. We’re not sure why it happened, but when Chris went to leave, Cecilia looked at him and just started crying. He said it ripped his heart out, but he had to go. She’s never reacted like that before – Chris and I are usually the ones who don’t want to leave her, she’s always happy to see her teachers. I guess we’ll see what happens tomorrow.

There’s more to come tomorrow. Here are the latest pictures.

P.S. 44 hours until Oregon State plays Utah. Go Beavs!!

Think "A Christmas Story"

She's so fast, she's coming out of her pants.

C'mon Mom, give me my toy!

Thank goodness for wall brackets!

Yay!!!

Sitting inside her Exersaucer and playing with some of Grandma Joani's fabric.

Leaning against the table

She lunged forward to the couch from her position in the previous picture. Yikes!

Riding home from IKEA

She woke up Sunday morning, sat herself up and started talking to Eeyore

What a sleeping position!

OK, what an absolute cutie. Our kids are so freaking awesome. ;)I hope the week has been going well for everyone there; we're back to work today so I'm a bit melancholy, but I am SO READY. Haha!

Talk to you guys later on... I do believe a phone call is in order this weekend. ;) Talk to you in a couple days. HUGS and love to everyone there (especially you, Grandma J., thanks for all the comments all summer!).
