Bye, Bye Grandma Joani

So, Grandma Joani drove home today after visiting us for 2 weeks. We had a great time and are sorry to say good-bye, but we know Uncle Rick and Bagel miss her.

I was supposed to update this on Friday, but as you will soon read, Friday got messed up.

Thursday - Today was the home and season opener for the Beavers. Because it was an all-day affair for Chris and me, Ceci got a whole day with Grandma to herself. Before we left, I got this cute pic of her and daddy:

She and Grandma had a full day of playing, eating, and the occasional dirty diaper. Mom and Dad had a LONG day of band and football. We left the house at 9:30 am and got home around midnight. If you want to see pictures of the game, check out the OSUMB website with the link on the side over here ------------------------------------------------------------>>>

BTW, Oregon State won. Go Beavs!!

Friday - Aunt Melissa flew in today. We were supposed to pick her up at 10:30 am, but her flight was delayed for 6 hours! The drag about this - we didn't know how long she would be from minute to minute. By the time her flight arrived, we were caught in traffic coming home. Miss Ceci felt she had been in the car long enough and let her feelings known. Chris pulled over in Wilsonville (south of Portland) and we all got out to stretch and have a Coke:

MMM, yummy!
Aunt Lissa keeps me entertained!
Saturday - We spent a lazy Saturday, mainly because Grandma and Mom had a rough night of sleep. Aunt Melissa brought Cecilia a new toy, a piggy bank that sings and counts. She's getting the hang of tapping in the coins if you slip them in the slot:

She also likes to chew on the pig's nose.

We watched some college football, and put Ceci in her other OSU gear. It's a cute halter dress:

She still loves Toby and he is still unsure about her:

After a morning of football, we loaded the car and headed to Newport to see the ocean. The water was a tad chilly and Ceci wasn't too sure about the water or the sand.

Sandy toes.

I guess this isn't so bad
Dad Ceci and Mom at Otter Rock

After Newport Beach, we had lunch Arctic Circle (a hamburger joint favorite which originates in Utah). Then, we headed up the coast to see Otter Rock and the Devil's Punchbowl.

Ceci had a rough ride home, but calmed down after a quick stop and walk. She did not want to go to bed. I think she knew something was up - she spent the time playing with Grandma and Lissa. She also woke up a lot through the night - hopefully, she'll be back to normal tonight - so far, so good.

Sunday - Grandma Joani left for Vegas at 6am. She just called a little bit ago to say she arrived home safely. Ceci woke up at 7am and had a good morning with Dad (thanks for letting Mom sleep in!) After a good breakfast, she took a nap at 9:30 a.m. Chris and I followed suit and everyone woke up 3 hours later!

We went to Home Depot for landscaping tools, then Staples to get a wireless card. Yes, we are now wireless (Thanks for the wireless router, Aunt Lissa!) Chris weeded some of the larger weeds via shovel then raked a portion of the backyard so Toby might actually go out there.

Cecilia went down for the night around 7:30 a.m. I hope she has a peaceful night of sleep. Good night to one and all.

Awwwww, looks like a good time. That halter dress is adorable... I better not show Noah, or else he'll be catching the next flight out West. ;)

We get our own Grandparents' visit this weekend (after EMU Band Day weekend in Ypsilanti), just in time for Gparents' Day on Sunday. You'd better get something nice for your grandparents, Ceci! ;)

HUGS. Talk to you once school gets settled!
